If you are a fishing enthusiast like us then you have probably looked into upgrading your fishing rod or adding to your collection. Every angler knows having access to multiple different fishing rods can make fishing not only a more successful experience but a more enjoyable one as well.
One rod that everyone should consider is the telescopic fishing rod. These fishing poles have become quite popular recently, mainly because they are affordable and compact. Not only that, but their collapsing feature makes them easy to travel with.
Choosing the right one can be hard as there are so many out there, but fear not. We will help you find the best telescopic fishing rod. This article contains a list of what we consider to be some of the best.
Suogaylang Spinning telescopic rod- One of the features we happen to love is its lightweight body. The lightweight body helped us better maneuver the fishing rod while it was in the water. In fact, we discovered that thanks to this feature we were able to have a farther cast.
PLUSINNO telescopic fishing rod- We love how compact this fishing rod is. This made it very easy for us to travel with and we were even able to carry it in our pocket.
YONGZHI pocket fishing rod- The durability of this fishing rod is undeniable. This fishing rod is made out of carbon fiber and fiberglass which helps create a durable exterior that can withstand almost all conditions that it put against.
Suogaylang Spinning telescopic rod
The Suogaylang Spinning telescopic rod is made out of high density 24 Ton Carbon Fiber and E-Glass composite. This unique combination gives you a fishing rod that is durable and sturdy while being sensitive all at the same time.
But, how sturdy is this fishing rod exactly? Don’t be fooled by the size and compact nature of this fishing rod. This fishing rod has the ability to withstand the weight of a 10pound fish.
The reel seat is made out of corrosion resistant CNC aluminum that allows you to have worry free fishing for multiple years to come. Another great feature we loved were the stainless-steel guides with ceramic inserts. Having these inserts means we were able to use this fishing rod in salt water without worrying about corrosion or losing control.
Its impressive lock and retraction system did not disappoint as it allowed us to always have a sturdy grasp every time we went out fishing.
This telescopic fishing rod comes in multiple different sizes which we enjoyed quite a bit as it allowed us to have different options to choose from. The smallest size being 1.8M, and the largest size being 3.6M when expanded.

PLUSINNO telescopic fishing rod
The PLUSINNO telescopic fishing rod first caught our attention because of how small it compacts down to. It essentially is one of the smallest compacting telescopic fishing rods we have come across. However, do not let the initial exterior sizing fool you.
This telescopic fishing rod comes in different sizes the smallest being 1.8M and the largest being 3.3M when expanded.
With that being said, we knew we had to take it for a test run immediately. We discovered that the pole folds down without a hitch. It fact, it was extremely easy for us to open and unfold it for immediate use.
This was impressive to us as other telescopic fishing rods that we had tested had a bit of difficulty returning to its normal compact size.
The strength of this telescopic fishing rod comes from its firm and durable exterior that is made out of high-quality stainless steel and carbon fiber. This allowed the rod to feel stable and secure each time we used it. In fact, after multiple different trips and constant use, the durability always remained the same.
A feature we personally loved was its S-curve oscillation system. This system helps the rod have better line winding. This became quite useful when we used this fishing rod to fish in different water levels and even in salt water.
This fishing rod has the capability of handling a fish that weighs 10 pounds or more. This is quite impressive when you compare the size of a 10pound fish with how big this rod actually is.

YONGZHI pocket fishing rod
The YONGZHI pocket fishing rod is manufactured using a combination of fiberglass and fiber giving us the lightweight and durability we want from a fishing rod. However, it is still responsive, which in our opinion is an excellent feature to have.
It features stainless-steel guides with ceramic inserts and hooded reel seat that allow this fishing rod to work well in fresh and saltwater.
Although this fishing rod does work well in fresh and salt water we did notice that it had a bit of a difficult time in salt water. The salt water seemed to be a bit too heavy for this fishing rod to work as well as it did in fresh water.
The stainless-steel guides offer ceramic inserts that help secure longer casts. We also noted that when we draw our cast the ceramic inserts helped to greatly reduce the friction that was caused by the line.
This telescopic fishing rod comes in multiple different sizes the smallest being 1.5M, but it extends to 4.92ft and the largest being 2.4M, but it extends to 7.87ft. With that being said, this fishing rod can withstand the weight of a fish that is up to 6 pounds anything heavier will break the line.
The compact aspect of this fishing rod is exceptionally well once extended it will lock into place until you unlock it. We found that we never had a problem of maintaining the fishing rod extended for long periods of time. In fact, it felt very secure and durable the entire time.

How to properly maintain your telescopic fishing rod
Just like any other product your telescopic fishing rod will need maintenance in order to work its very best very time for many years to come. In order for the telescopic feature to work smoothly, you need to take care of your rod the proper way.
The following guide will help direct you towards how to properly maintain your telescopic fish rod.
Regular cleaning - When it comes to taking care of your telescopic rod you want to always clean your rod every time you use it. Plants, as well as animal life and debris, can get caught in all the crevices that telescopic fishing rods tend to have.
You want to remove those as quickly as possible as if left alone they can cause extensive damage to your rod. Soap and water is the best way to clean your rod. However, you want to make sure you go over every crevice with a Q-tip to ensure everything is clean.
Store your rod properly - Beside maintaining your rod clean at all times you want to store it properly as the better it is stored the least amount of damage it will receive.
Storing it in your tackle box is always a great idea. You want to keep it away from getting bent or stepped on
What to do if your rod does not collapse anymore
The great thing about telescopic fishing rods is their ability to collapse. However, sometimes we may come across the issue of the rod becoming jammed and not being able to collapse anymore. If you run into this problem, here are a few things you can do:
Wipe it clean - One of the main reasons why fishing rods become jammed and do not collapse the way they should is because there is dirt stuck in one or more of the surfaces. Wipe down the entire rod and meticulously clean all crevices with a Q-tip to ensure there is no dirt stuck anywhere.
Add hot water - If wiping it down does not help the issue pour hot water and slowly begin pushing it down. The idea is to loosen any bolts that may have become stuck.
Soak in hot water - Soaking your fishing rod should be your last resort. But, it has worked for us many times. Consider leaving it in hot water overnight and slowly pushing it back together the following day
If none of these methods work it may be time for a new telescope fishing rod. Consider upgrading your fishing rod with one of our top choices.
